Under the ASLI (PRECARN) project, NLP Technologies Inc. and RALI (the laboratory of the Université de Montréal in natural language processing) have developed a system of automatic translation of court decisions. In this presentation, Mr. Gotti from RALI will begin by showing the usefulness of such a system as part of the research work of Canadian jurists. Then, he will explain the selected technologies to accomplish the translations and he will detail the experiences of the developed statistical engine. Finally, he will show the results of this system when it is applied to judgments of the Federal Courts of Canada.

Each week users are notified by e-mail of the latest decisions of the federal courts and the Tax Court of Canada.
