Under the ISASLI (PRECARN) project, NLP Technologies Inc. and RALI (the laboratory of the Université de Montréal in natural language processing) have developed RevSum a web-based software designed to facilitate the review of automated summaries. In this presentation, Mr. Yousfi from RALI will highlight the technological advancement of the summary revision interface (RevSum) and the benefits of interactive revision. Finally, he will demonstrate the results of the system’s enhancements applied to judgments from the Federal Courts of Canada.

NLP Technologies earns two additional competencies in the Microsoft Certified Partner Program - Monday, June 23, 2008

NLP has completed the requirements necessary to obtain the Security Solutions and ISV/Software Solutions Competencies within the Microsoft Certified Partner Program.
The product of NLP Technologies has been analyzed by Software Testing at VeriTest-Microsoft. Under the ASLI (PRECARN) project, NLP Technologies Inc. and RALI (the laboratory of the Université de Montréal in natural language processing) have developed a system of automatic translation of court decisions. In this presentation, Mr. Gotti from RALI will begin by showing the usefulness of such a system as part of the research work of Canadian jurists. Then, he will explain the selected technologies to accomplish the translations and he will detail the experiences of the developed statistical engine. Finally, he will show the results of this system when it is applied to judgments of the Federal Courts of Canada.

NLP technologies has launched DecisionExpress-Tax, a bi-lingual current-awareness service designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of Canadian tax professionals. Each week users are notified by e-mail of the latest decisions of the federal courts and the Tax Court of Canada. DecisionExpress-Tax provides a link to the official full-text version of each court judgment, as well as a snapshot of the judgment's contents, allowing users to instantly know important information such as: the area of taxation law covered, whether the tax payer's appeal was allowed or dismissed, the applicable sections of the Income Tax Act or Regulations and the key concepts involved in the case.
