NLP DEMONSTRATES ITS SUCCESS AT PRECARN SHOWCASE
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada,November 10, 2009
On November 2, 2009, Precarn Incorporated hosted a showcase announcing the funding of a new $2.5 million T-GAP (Technology Gap Assistance Program) project. Mike Lake, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry, Tony Clement, spoke about the importance of innovation in the Canadian industry, and also encouraged innovative Canadian firms.
Previously, NLP was granted a funding from Precarn for the successful integration of Machine Translation technology on the market (http://www.precarn.ca/news/NLP20090901.html). NLP was one of two Canadian firms invited to speak who have had innovative commercialization success. Also in this showcase, NLP demonstrated the latest development in Statistical Machine Translation and Summarization technologies for legal and governmental fields.
NLP provides services to several government departments (both federal and provincial) through changes in traditional translation methods towards new automatically translated workflow. Since production time is a major issue with government departments, NLP’s innovative service significantly reduces translation time. This groundbreaking shift marks a new era of time and cost-efficient technological solutions.
